[VIDEO] Shock As Buhari’s Minister Declares Support For Atiku Ahead Of 2019 Presidency



A video has emerged online of Minister of Women Affairs, Aisha Jummai Alhassan (Mama Taraba), declaring her support for the 2019 presidential ambition of former vice president Atiku Abubakar.

Being a minister under President Muhammadu Buhari for whom other ministers and party members are drumming support for a second term in 2019, the minister may have alienated herself with her action.

“Your excellency, our father and our president by the grace of God, come 2019,” she said in Hausa language.

Popularly called Mama Taraba, Mrs. Alhassan was the APC governorship candidate in Taraba in 2015, an election she narrowly lost to the current Peoples Democratic Party Governor.

Her support for Mr. Abubakar will not be surprising for political observers, as the former vice president is believed to be a major financier of the APC in the North-east including Taraba.

Although Mr. Abubakar has not publicly declared his intention to run in 2019, he is believed to be mobilising and getting ready for the election. He came third in the APC presidential primaries in the build up to the 2015 elections, losing to President Muhammadu Buhari and ex-Kano governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso.

‘Prices Of Petrol, Cooking Gas Have Crashed Nationwide’ -NNPC

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) says sustained strategic intervention in the efficient supply and distribution of petroleum products has led to significant fall in the prices of premium motor spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), also known as cooking gas, nationwide. In a statement on Sunday, Ndu Ughamadu, spokesman of the corporation, said a national survey by oil and gas forum, NNPC’s weekly TV programme, indicated that in the last few weeks, the price of petrol has fallen steadily from N145 per litre to between N142 and N143 per litre in some stations across the country.
