Davido confirms cancellation of US tour due to NYSC commitment

Nigerian pop singer, Davido, on Friday confirmed the cancellation of his United States, US, musical tour. The superstar disclosed that he cancelled his US tour to enable him conclude his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation programme. Davido is one of those mobilized for Batch B of the service which is scheduled to end its three-week orientation exercise on Monday, September 17. In an Instagram post, the award-winning singer wrote: “Due to scheduling conflicts and NYSC commitments in Nigeria, the remaining dates for the Davido Locked Up Tour has been cancelled. “Refunds will be made available at point of purchase. Davido and his team are working hard to reschedule all dates plus add new dates in the near future. I love you guys and see you soon. “I apologize to all my fans but duty calls. 2019 election: Bauchi APC endorses Buhari, Abubakar

The Bauchi State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has finally endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari and Bauchi State Governor, Mohammed Abubakar as their presidential and governorship candidates respectively, in the 2019 election. The party made this public on Thursday during its stakeholder’s meeting held at the Banquet Hall of the government house Bauchi. The meeting which was presided over by the state APC Chairman, Alhaji Uba Nana was attended by state executives of the party, members of the State House of Assembly, some current and ex-lawmakers in the state as well as members of the Bauchi State Executive Council. During the meeting, a member of the State Assembly representing Giade Local Government constituency, Honourable Adamu Bello moved the motion for the endorsement of Buhari and Abubakar, saying they have done well in the last three years in offices. Italy Policemen Accused Of Raping U.S. Students

Italian police officers are under investigation for the alleged rape of two U.S. students in Florence, media said on Friday. The women, aged 19 and 21, were in a nightclub Wednesday night when a fight broke out and the owner called the police. Six officers arrived, with four leaving shortly afterward when calm was restored, the reports said. The two who stayed on struck up a conversation with the Americans, who were visibly drunk, and offered them a lift home when they failed to find a taxi. The women claim they were attacked by the officers once they arrived home in the early hours of Thursday, with one raped in the courtyard and the other in the house. Canada, EU, China To Co-Host September Climate Meeting

Environmental ministers representing Canada, China , and the European Union will co-host a meeting in Montreal later this month to move forward with the implementation of the Paris climate change agreement. The ministerial meeting will include representatives from some 30 countries, according to Canada’s minister of environment and climate change, Catherine McKenna. “This meeting brings together major economies and key climate actors to advance the implementation of the Paris Agreement and demonstrate continued commitment to global action on climate change,” she said in a statement. The meeting follows US President Donald Trump’s announcement in June that the United States would abandon the painstakingly-negotiated 2015 global pact. The Cross River State Government says it has discovered new solid mineral deposits across the three Senatorial Districts of the state and if fully tapped would tremendously transform the economy of the state and reduce its over dependence on federal allocations. The search and discovery of the resources follow a geological mapping of the state by some Chinese geologists from Shian Xi Province of China after an MOU signed between the Country and Cross River State. Some of the minerals discovered in commercial quantity were Uranium, iron ore, manganese, tourmaline, barites, marbles, Galina, spherite, coal, kaolin, sulphite, rutile as well as new limestone deposits. The State’s Commissioner for Solid Minerals, Hon.
